The Texas Education Research Consortium brings together hundreds of students and professionals representing school districts, community colleges, and universities across the state to attend our Texas Student Leadership Summit. Our Summit proudly educates and engages middle school to college students on various topics related to leadership, college and career readiness, identity, fellowship, and more. This year’s summit theme is Invest in Yourself: Listen, Learn & Grow. Additionally, we are excited to announce our featured speakers for the Summit: University of North Texas at Dallas Interim Dean of the School of Education, Dr. Patrick Valdez will serve as our emcee; CoolSpeak’s Ernesto Mejia as our keynote speaker; and Hip Hop Grew Up founder, Bavu Blakes, as our featured artist. Call for Workshop Proposals
The Texas Education Research Consortium is happy to announce a call for workshop proposals. If you or a colleague would like to present at the Summit, please review the proposal information below and complete the form linked below:
Proposals must:
1) Align with one or more of our five pillars: Leadership, College & Career Readiness, Fellowship, Identity, and Health & Wellness
2) Be tailored for one of three tracks: Middle school, College Bound (high school), or College (2- and 4-year students)
Should your proposal be accepted, you are agreeing to present in-person (no virtual presentation option) during one of our presentation blocks between 3:00–5:00pm CT on Thursday, August 6th or 10:00–12:00pm CT on Friday, August 7th; subject to change. Each presentation should be 50 minutes in duration.
Deadline for proposal submission is Sunday, April 5, 2026 at 11:59pm CT.
